The Cheetah Safari is a 7-night Safari organised by Somak holidays but rebranded as if their own by several travel companies.

The Safari starts at The Somak Lounge Nairobi on Monday morning.

I will write more here about our briefing at the Somak Lounge and about how our driver and fellow passengers are allocated.

From Nairobi we are driven to The Aberdare Country Club in time for lunch. In the afternoon we can either relax or take a nature walk. We spend the night at the Country Club.

On Tuesday morning we are driven over the equator (I assume we will make stop here) to Ashnil Samburu camp in time for lunch. In the late afternoon we have our first game drive.

We have 2 further game drives in the Samburu area, one on Wednesday morning and one on Wednesday afternoon.

Samburu has some unique wildlife including Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffes and long-necked gerenuks. There is also a large selection of birds.

We spend Tuesday and Wednesday nights at the Ashnil Samburu Camp which is located on the Ewaso Nyiro River affording great views of hippos and crocodiles.

On Thursday morning we are driven to Serena Mountain Lodge where we can spend Thursday afternoon viewing the wildlife from the lodge. We spend Thursday night at Serena Mountain Lodge.

On Friday morning we are driven to Lake Nakuru for lunch. After lunch we are taken on a game drive around Lake Nakuru where we hope to see Flamingos and Black Rhinos.

On Friday afternoon we are driven to Lake Naivasha where we spend the night at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge.

On Saturday morning we are driven to the Ashnil Mara Camp where we spend 2 nights.

Whilst at the Ashnil Mara Camp we have 3 game drives in the Masai Mara.

On Monday morning we are driven back to Nairobi to take our flight home.
